Gifts can be made in a variety of ways…
§ Give through the Website – make a credit card contribution using our secure online contribution platform. Click on the “Donate Now” tab.
§ Give by Mail or in Person - please make all donations payable to WDM Human Services:

Office Hours for donation drop-off: 8 am to 4 pm, Mon-Fri
4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, 2nd & 4th Tues of each month
§ Give In Honor Of/In Memory Of – recognize a special friend or family member in any of the ways listed above. Please notify West Des Moines Human Services of this intent so the gift can be acknowledged accordingly.
§ Give Via Your Water Bill (WDM residents only) – Please consider designating a donation on your monthly West Des Moines Water Works bill. Simply check the West Des Moines Human Services box on the water bill and specify your donation amount (note, this amount is in addition to your water bill).
§ Deferred Gift – please consider including West Des Moines Human Services in your estate plans.

Food Pantry Donations
Non-perishable food items donated to the DMARC red barrels at your local grocery store keeps our food pantry full! West Des Moines Human Services is one of 12 sites in the Greater Des Moines area to provide emergency food to individuals and families in need. Your food donations can be made to either DMARC or West Des Moines Human Services to help those in need. Click here to view the most needed pantry items!
Personal Care Donations
Personal care items are an ongoing need:
- Shampoo & conditioner
- Diapers & diaper wipes
- Laundry detergent
- Toilet paper
- Toothpaste & toothbrushes
West Des Moines Human Services assists more than 500 households with holiday food and toys each year. Local businesses, clubs, and private individuals are encouraged to adopt low-income families to provide holiday food, clothing and toys which brighten what often is a stressful time for struggling families. Clothing Closet Donations
The Clothing Closet provides free clothing and household items to eligible households on a limited monthly basis. We are always in need of clean, gently-used clothing and household items.
