WDM Magazine
The WDM Magazine is directly mailed to every business and home in West Des Moines, giving it a distribution of over 30,000. Copies are also available in several City of West Des Moines facilities, including the Library.
Published three times per year in April, August, and November, residents can keep an issue for months to refer to programming information for the WDM Library and Parks and Recreation. In addition to a 40 page Parks and Recreation insert, informative news pieces cover events and festivities in West Des Moines.
In the 2008 Citizen Survey, 77% of surveyed West Des Moines residents reported that they referenced the WDM Magazine in the last twelve months to get information. That is higher than any other communication tool the City uses. In 2007, the City won an Award of Excellence from 3CMA, the City/County Communications Marketing Association, for this high-quality communication tool. The Summer/Fall 2008 issue of the WDM Magazine received a Bronze Award for Best Government Publication as part of the 2009 Magnum Opus Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Custom Media.
