Current Status: The contractor has closed the intersection of Army Post Road, South 11th Street and Southwest Connector. They are currently installing storm sewer pipe near Army Post Road and they continue to grade the proposed roadway north of Army Post Road.

Grand Avenue Phase III

Description: This is a reconstruction project that will provide public improvements south of the intersection of Grand Avenue/Fuller Road to Raccoon River Park entrance.
Project Status: The contractor is currently grading along the west and north sides of Grand Avenue. They are installing storm sewer pipe on the west side of Grand Avenue.
During this project two-way traffic will be maintained on Grand Avenue but there will be times when trucks are entering & exiting the site thus there may be some temporary traffic delays.

2010 PCC Patching Program - Phase I
Est. Start: Summer 2010
Est. Completion: Winter 2010
Est. Cost: $559,229.50
Contractor: Absolute Concrete
Description: This is a maintenance project that will replace 4,369 square yards of paving at various locations. There will also be 641 linear feet of curb and gutter replaced. The following streets will be involved with this project: Buffalo Road, 17th Street, 18th Street, Vine Street, Valley West Drive, 50th Street, 52nd Street and University Avenue.
Project Status: The contractor is working on Buffalo Road near Dowling High School, in the 1400 to 1700 block of 18th Street and 1400 to 1700 block of 17th Street.

Holiday Circle Sanitary Sewer Improvements
Est. Start: March/April 2010

Contractor: Priority Excavating
Description: This sewer improvement project will consist of installing a new 12” sewer line and necessary manholes along Holiday Circle and Railroad Ave.
Project Status: The contactor has started installing pipe and manholes along Railroad Ave and is working west towards Holiday Circle/Holiday Park.

9th Street Lift Station
Est. Start: April 2010
Est. Completion: Interim May 2010, Final August 2010
Est. Cost: $419,326
Contractor: Keller Excavating
Description: This project will construct a sewer lift station on the south side of Railroad Avenue in alignment with future South 9th Street.
The project will also include the construction of standby power for the Valley Junction Pump Station in the 400-500 block of Railroad Avenue on the south side of the street.
Project Status: The contractor is preparing to install the mechanical equipment, pumps and pump controls in the precast structures.

2010 Intake Repair Program

Description: This project will provide the removal and replacement of ten intake structures at various locations.
Project Status: The contractor has suspended work due to the weather.

2010 PCC Reconstruction Program

Description: This project will include the reconstruction of approximately 5,578 square yards of paving, storm sewer and sanitary sewer structure replacement. This project will focus on Maple Street from 1st Street to 4th Street and Elm Street from 1st Street to 4th Street.
Project Status: The contractor is currently working on 100 to 200 block of Elm Street and the 100 to 200 block of Maple Street. They will be paving on both streets the week of July 12th.

Westridge Reconstruction Phase II

Description: This project will include the reconstruction of approximately 5,578 square yards of paving, storm sewer and sanitary sewer structure replacement. This project will focus on Maple Street from 1st Street to 4th Street and Elm Street from 1st Street to 4th Street.
Project Status: The contractor has paved 57th Court and will be starting surface restoration the week of July 12th. 57th Court should be open by July 15th. The contractor will begin subgrade preparations starting the week of July 12th on Northview Drive.
