Call 222-3660 today to see if your child qualifies for a partial scholarship to spend a fun-filled week at the West Side Camp Fire Day Camp located at Phenix Elementary School in West Des Moines.
YOUTH SCHOLARSHIPS
West Des Moines Human Services offers several programs to assist qualifying low-income children with opportunities for athletic, academic, or creative development.
Does your child have an interest in participating in:

If so, please stop by our office and visit with a worker to see if you might qualify for a partial scholarship to enable your child to follow his/her dreams.

Qualifying households in Clive may be eligible for swim passes at the Clive Aquatic Center.
The pool remains open until mid-August.
What a great way for your family to spend time together while keeping cool and having fun too!

SCHOOL SUPPLIES
The West Des Moines Human Services Department believes every child should begin the new school year with necessary school supplies regardless of their income.
If your children will need help obtaining some of the school supplies required by their schools, please bring your child’s school supply list to our office after you have completed their registration in August.
We hold a give-away the week before school begins -- August 11 - 15, 2008
HOLIDAY PROGRAMS
We offer several programs to assist low-income children and families during the holidays.
Please see the Holidays section under Low-Income Households.
SPECIAL OUTINGS
Throughout the year, West Des Moines civic groups sponsor special outings for a limited number of children ages 8-12 to local events and exhibits. This past year the WDM Kiwanis took children to a Drake Football Game, to an Iowa Cubs Games, and to special exhibits at the Science Center.
