Civil Service Status

This is a Civil Service Position

Regular Hours

Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm     

Overtime and Weekend Work As Required

Tentative Start Date April, 2018
 Job Summary & Requirements Manages and coordinates Capital Improvement Projects, long-term maintenance, energy efficiency, planning and development for City buildings and associated facilities. This work incorporates coordination with the Public Services Facilities Maintenance Division. The work is performed under general supervision of the City Engineer but extensive leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgement and initiative.

Requires High School Diploma or GED with minimum 5 years of experience in architecture, design and construction of buildings and maintenance and rehabilitation of building systems or an Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering/Construction, Architectural Design and Technology or related field with minimum 3 years of experience in architecture, design and construction of buildings and maintenance and rehabilitation of building systems.

Civil Service Exam Applicants who meet the minimum requirements, and receive a passing score on the written questionnaire, will be invited to the next step in the process. Oral Boards are tentatively scheduled for March 26, 2018 (this date is tentative and is subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances). 
Physical/Drug Test Post offer pre-employment drug test required.
