|Job Summary & Requirements||
We are seeking community– and service–oriented applicants to perform diverse tasks focused on working with the community to solve problems; to protect life and property by patrolling assigned areas; to enforce laws and regulations; to investigate complaints; to prepare detailed reports; and to perform other law enforcement related activities.
Requires a high school diploma or GED AND at least an Associate’s Degree or two (2) years of college (60 credits) in any academic major. Education substitutes are three (3) years of active military duty or three (3) years as a sworn officer. Must be twenty-one (21) years of age on or before date of written entrance examination and a citizen of the United States at the time of application. Uncorrected vision of not less than 20/100 in both eyes, corrected to 20/20, a valid (Iowa) driver’s license and good driving record are required. Must live within one (1) hour normal drive time of the WDM Law Enforcement Center.

|Civil Service Exam||
An examination consisting of several steps will be administered for this position. For applicants submitting all required materials and meeting the minimum requirements, the steps are as follows: Personal Questionnaire Evaluation, initial background investigation, a written (POST) examination*, physical agility test (PAT), and oral board exams. The tentative schedule of exams is as follows:
Saturday, April 7, 2018 (morning)
Physical Agility Test (PAT) – ALL Applicants
Police Officer Standard Test (POST) – ALL Applicants EXCEPT those who have passed a POST Exam since August 1, 2017, OR who are
certified officers in the State of Iowa will waive the POST Exam
